To the "Immortal Regiment" of the ChSMA and the "Komsomolets of Transbaikalia" - from grateful descendants «… but turned into white cranes"... And if not in the cranes, then somewhere there, in the heavens, they, who remained forever in the ranks, were with us in those moments. With us, students, employees of the Academy, who passed with portraits of legendary teachers-front-line soldiers in the column of the "Immortal Regiment" of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy. Acting Rector of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy Natalia Lareva in her speech addressed the tragic year of June 22, 1941:
"Everyone who stood up to defend the Motherland did it with love in their hearts - to their loved ones, to the country, to their fellow soldiers who covered each other under fire. The defenders of the Motherland, having gone through bloody battles, performed an unparalleled feat, defending their beloved country from the enemy. But we, all Russians, respond to them with dignity, doing it with love and firm faith in victory. Let us be worthy of the memory of our heroic grandfathers and great-grandfathers, let us keep in our hearts the memory of the feat of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the high price at which the Great Victory was won. Let us remember: after all, a country that forgets its past has no future.
Further, the path, as before, lay to the legendary T-34 tank. The presenter recalled: during the Great Patriotic War, Komsomol members, schoolchildren and young residents of Chita and the Chita region raised funds to create a tank column - everyone contributed as much as they could. In 1943, the collected funds helped to produce T-34 tanks at the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant, the vehicles went to the front. "Know, comrades, your tanks are in good hands," a letter from grateful tankers, heroes of the Great Patriotic War, sounded like an echo from the forties. In 1967, a monument was erected in Chita - a tank with a proud inscription "Komsomolets of Transbaikalia". Since then, the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy has been patronizing this symbol of true heroism and our blessed memory. The Yunarmiya of the House of Officers solemnly laid a wreath at the foot of the monument. Following them, students and staff of the Academy honored the memory by laying flowers at the foot of the monument. We are grateful. We bow our heads in silence. We remember.
