"Eradicators", "Therapeutic Quintet", "Sudden Victory Syndrome", "Isoline of Fate". If you thought that these were the names of exciting blockbusters, you were mistaken: this was the original and mysterious name of four teams of 20 students participating in the Faculty Olympiad in Therapy.
The competition turned out to be no less creative than the names of the teams: in its format, it was more like an intellectual game "What? Where? When?", rather than the usual Olympiad with written answers to questions.
"Which was intended: after all, students had not only to prove the quality of knowledge, but also to show flexibility of thinking, the ability to quickly make decisions - skills that are extremely important for a future doctor," Svetlana Tswinger, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, will explain later, at the end of the Olympiad.
Humor, originality, creativity: the Olympiad began with competitive video business cards. The main program consisted of four competitive stages. The stage "To the Heart" tested knowledge in the field of electrocardiography. The second stage, "Medical Atelier", assessed the understanding of the pathogenesis of diseases. The third stage, "Medical Puzzle", invited participants to decipher therapy regimens encrypted in rebuses. The program ended with the "Medical Sprint" - a special test for team captains.
The first place was taken by the "Eradicators" team, the second went to the "Therapeutic Quintet", the third was won by the "Isoline of Fate", and the fourth place was taken by the "Sudden Victory Syndrome" team.
"We try to absorb knowledge not only during lectures and practical classes, but also during unrelenting self-preparation. And most importantly, of course, it helps not to let the understanding down: you must not let the team down. Which we all did together," Irada Babamuratova, the captain of the winning team "Eradators", shared the secret of success.
In conclusion, the Head of the Department of Faculty Therapy, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Andrey Filev and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Svetlana Zwinger addressed the students with parting words: not to rest on their laurels, to constantly improve and grow professionally.
