In the cycle "ChSMA – Territory of Unity", dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, this time we introduce you to Angelina Tokoyokova, a third-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, her nationality is "Altai".
The Altaians are one of the oldest Turkic peoples of Siberia. The roots of its young representative Angelina Tokoyokova are from Ulagan, a place where, according to the girl, traditions are especially carefully preserved: respect for the elders, a strong connection between man and nature and reverence for the sacred land of ancestors.
- I am proud of my roots, my family and the fact that I am part of the hardworking, hospitable Altai people," says Angelina.- For me, nationality is not only about origin, but also about the memory of ancestors, family values, language and attitude to people.
Since childhood, Angelina has absorbed the traditions of the Altai people: respect for agriculture, animal husbandry and other types of creative work, patience, honesty and willingness to help. Grandfathers, grandmothers, parents taught her to be kind, to respect her elders, not to be afraid of work and always strive to be useful: principles that have been passed down in Altai families for centuries.
The choice of the profession of a doctor has become a natural continuation of these values:
"Since childhood, it has been important for me to be useful to people, to support people in difficult moments. I consider the profession of a doctor to be one of the most humane and necessary. For me, medicine is not only the treatment of patients, but also compassion and responsibility. And it is also very important to understand people," says Angelina Tokoyokova.
Just as Altai people tie ribbons - yalama on tree branches as a sign of gratitude and a request for well-being, Angelina gives care to others through volunteering. The girl actively participates in charitable needlework (knits therapeutic octopuses, blankets and clothes for premature babies) in the detachment of the medical academy "Happiness in the palm of your hand"; helps patients in hospitals, organizes donor campaigns with friends and gives lectures on healthy lifestyle in the "Medical Volunteers" team; conducts master classes in first aid.
Like her ancestors, Angelina values the connection with nature, respects the elders and strives to support loved ones. And participation in a dance group helps to preserve cultural heritage, just as the Chaga Bayram holiday symbolizes the renewal and continuation of traditions.
Angelina's life path, which is at the beginning of her life, is an example of how loyalty to the traditions and values of her native people can inspire noble deeds in our days. To live in such a way that you would not be ashamed in front of all generations of your family.
- It is important for me to maintain respect for the traditions of my ancestors and at the same time strive for development, knowledge and service to people," Angelina shares. - And it is also very important not to lose those qualities in yourself that I especially appreciate in people: sincerity and kindness.
