At the All-Russian emergency competition "Big Simulator" in the northern capital, not only the residents of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy showed excellent results. Our students from the Phoenix volunteer squad were among the top three in the discipline "First Aid in Emergencies".
29 teams from all over Russia, 12 most difficult stations and only extreme practice. Burns, fractures, CPR, convulsions, bleeding, bites of poisonous animals, accidents - future doctors went through everything. Plus 4 master classes, including working with an Ambu bag, sorting in a toxic environment, a spectacular performance of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the police and an ambulance, where the teams learned from the pros.
"Most of all, I remember the "Accident" station: a broken car, four seriously injured and among them - the worst - a child without consciousness and breathing. And when the car began to smoke, time seemed to stop. In this smoke, we had to urgently remove everyone from the car, carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation and provide first aid at a safe distance. At that moment, fear was mixed with extreme concentration," our guys share their impressions.
According to the results of the competition, Chita's Phoenix took bronze, sharing the podium with only two of the strongest medical universities in St. Petersburg.
The captain of the team Kirill Byankin, participants Valeria Rubtsova, Sofia Tukeyeva and Nikita Danilov thanked Associate Professor of the Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care, Candidate of Medical Sciences Valery Anatolyevich Konnov and squad mates for their help in training.
