May 9: Volunteers of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy in the ranks On May 9, volunteers of our academy took part in the work of thematic sites. So, on the Decembrists Square, volunteers of the "Heart of Surgery" detachment recreated the atmosphere of an evacuation hospital. The children taught those who wished how to properly sew wounds, helping themselves and another "wounded", how to make bandages, use surgical instruments, those that were in the arsenal of doctors of the forties.
"This is a real feat: in the most difficult conditions, military doctors not only saved lives, performed operations, but also supported the wounded soldiers mentally, in a word, with participation," says the future surgeon Sayana Zhalsanova.
Next to the volunteers of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy are the staff of the Pushkin Regional Library: with the help of a presentation, they tell those who came to the square about how, sometimes falling from fatigue, the doctors of the forties did not give themselves the right to slack, kept their round-the-clock watch, did not give up.
"In Chita, 13 evacuation hospitals were deployed, in total, about 30 evacuation hospitals were deployed in the Chita region, and truly heroic nurses and doctors worked there," says library employee Yulia Kashina.
