"I chose a phonendoscope as a child" - a student of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy about medicine, traditions and Armenian culture In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, we continue the online rubric "ChSMA is a territory of unity". In it, we introduce you to the multinational family of our Alma mater. Manvel Kosoyan is a 4th year student of the Faculty of Medicine of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy. The future doctor plans to become an orthopedic traumatologist. He became interested in medicine during his school years.
- Becoming a doctor has been my goal since the 7th grade. I wanted to make my own discovery in medicine and help people.
However, this choice may have been predetermined much earlier.
- We have an Armenian tradition "Atamkhatik": when a child has his first tooth, attributes of different professions are laid out in front of him. Whatever attribute he takes, that profession, perhaps, he will choose in the future. Then I chose a phonendoscope.
Manvel has a special respect for his roots and culture. It is important for him not only to learn, but also to share his national identity with others. Music occupies a special place in his life - Manvel plays percussion instruments, including the traditional Armenian drum Dhol, and participates in university events, including the Festival of National Cultures.
- At ChSMA, I try to acquaint children with Armenian culture - through music, traditions, history. We show the cuisine, the atmosphere. It is always very bright and sincere.
In addition to his studies, the future doctor is actively involved in the life of the Armenian community. Meetings help him maintain a connection with the culture and find a balance in a busy student life.
- Armenians are known for their hard work, enterprise, strong family ties, hospitality and special attitude towards the elders. Such meetings give me a powerful charge of emotions and help to distract myself from difficult studies. Also, the special rituals of my family include visiting the Church of St. Luke on the territory of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy.
Manvel's story is about a choice made once, about loyalty to one's roots and about how medicine, culture and true love for the future profession are harmoniously combined in one person.
