On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the formation of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, a key coordinating body in the counter-terrorism system in Russia, an intellectual game was held for the first time among students of Transbaikalia universities in Chita, as part of the national project "Youth and Children". The intellectual game brought together under one roof more than a hundred students from the Agrarian Institute, Transbaikal State University, Transbaikal Institute of Railway Transport, Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy and the Chita Institute of Baikal State University. In the format of the "Own Game" program, team members had to determine the most "savvy" team in knowledge of laws and countering terrorism. As noted by the organizers, among whom was the apparatus of the ATK of the Trans-Baikal Territory, the event is directly related to countering the ideology of neo-Nazism and Ukrainian nationalism.
Furthermore, one of the goals of the intellectual game is historical education and the fight against the falsification of history. First Deputy Director of the Chita Institute of Baikal State University Nikolai Raevsky said during the opening of the game that the security of the country, their own and their loved ones depends on the youth. Olga Perova, Head of the Department of Youth Policy of the Trans-Baikal Territory, in turn, noted that the students themselves, communicating with each other, did not forget about the rules of safe behavior on the Internet and did not succumb to the temptation of easy money. "We all understand this; we see, we hear, we know. But, probably, it is very difficult to recruit a person at the moment when he truly understands where the truth is and where it is fiction," Olga Perova said, recalling the high-profile case of terrorism in June 2024, when, at the direction of the "curator," who promised them a reward, young Transbaikalians set fire to the forest. In the game itself, students demonstrated not only their knowledge but also the skills of performing practical tasks. Some of the questions of the intellectual game were practical, for example, it was required to put on a gas mask for a while and correctly.
In addition, questions related to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In particular, they talked about the Strategy of the National Policy of the Russian Federation until 2036, aimed at preserving the unity of peoples and strengthening the territorial integrity of the country, as well as questions related to a comprehensive plan to counter the ideology of terrorism in Russia until 2028. Recall also that the chairman of the anti-terrorist commission in Transbaikalia is the governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov, the deputy chairman - the head of the FSB of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory, Lieutenant General Alexei Savchenkov.
At the last meeting of the commission, the head of the region instructed to increase the attention of teachers of universities and colleges, secondary educational institutions to the prevention of terrorism in youth and adolescent environments, to pay close attention to their interaction. In addition, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that patriotism and a sense of responsibility for the fate of the Motherland come from knowledge of its history and geography. "Fostering an understanding that the preservation of the common Motherland meets the fundamental interests of every Russian people, because this means the best protection, it means confidence in the future and future of their children," Vladimir Putin concluded.
