Management of the Youth Scientific Society of the Chita State Medical Academy of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation

The Student Scientific Society was established in 1954, its first composition consisted of five people. The organizer of the SSS was the head of the Department of Normal Physiology, Associate Professor Igor Dmitrievich Boenko. In the first years of the SSS's existence, 82 first- and second-year students were engaged in scientific research. At the same time, the editorial board of the Scientific Bulletin, the student newspaper of the SSS, was created.

The oldest student scientific circles are: the circle of the Department of Biology (founder – Prof. A.A. Goncharova), Normal Anatomy (organizer – Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, Prof. A.P. Lavrentiev), Biochemistry (the first supervisor is I.I. Evnina), Histology (organizer – Doctor of Medical Sciences Y.E. Khesin). In 1956, the circle was organized at the Department of Therapy (headed by Prof. P.D. Rabinovich); in 1957 – at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Prof. S.G. Yurievskaya and Associate Professor S.A. Nemirovskaya); in 1958, the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Dentistry appeared (founded by Associate Professor V.A. Lyubarsky); In 1962, the circle of the Department of General Surgery began its work (headed by Prof. V.V. Popov, then by Prof. N.I. Iordanskaya). After the opening of the Faculty of Pediatrics, a student circle of the same name appeared, the founder of which was Professor E.P. Chetvertakova.

Since 2002, the SSS of the Chita State Medical Academy has begun to hold an annual conference "Medicine of Tomorrow", the status of which has gradually grown from a regional to a conference with international participation.

In February 2012, SSS was transformed into the Youth Scientific Society: its active participants are not only students, but also residents, graduate students and young scientists.

The curators of SSS in different years were: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor B.I. Kuznik, Professor V.P. Mishchenko, Candidate of Medical Sciences V.V. Saprykin, Associate Professor M.A. Dzhulai, Associate Professor A.M. Yuriev, Associate Professor A.M. Proskuryakova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor E.V. Fefelova, Associate Professor E.V. Prutkina, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor D.M. Serkin. Since 2024, the Curator of the Youth Scientific Society of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy is the assistant of the Department of Ophthalmology N.A. Makarchuk.
