Faculty of Continuing Professional Education

The Faculty began its work on September 1, 1998 on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, according to which institutions of higher medical education were able to carry out training programs of additional professional education.

A huge role in the organization, formation and development of the faculty was made by Professor V.A. Sizonenko and Professor N.V. Govorin.

More than 2,000 practical health care workers annually improve their skills on the basis of the faculty.

The Faculty carries out and coordinates additional professional education of doctors of the state and private health care systems of the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Republic of Buryatia, the Amur Region, the Magadan Region, and other territories of the Far Eastern Federal District.

The main activities of the faculty are:

• organization of cycles of thematic improvement, advanced training and professional retraining, including within the framework of continuing medical education and simulation and training training;
• organization and planning of educational and methodological work in the field of additional professional education;
• interaction with bodies and institutions of practical health care;
• organization of the work of the faculty departments on the implementation of fundamental and applied scientific research in the relevant field of activity;
• work to establish and strengthen ties with scientific organizations, ministries and departments in order to create and effectively develop the material and technical base, educational and research process.

Personnel support of the educational process is represented by highly qualified specialists with extensive experience in both practical and teaching activities. A number of teachers of the faculty have the title of Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, are the main freelance specialists of the Ministry of Health of the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District.

Training of specialists is carried out at five departments of the faculty and courses at other clinical departments, which are located in the largest and most modernly equipped medical organizations of the health care system of the Trans-Baikal Territory. Training is conducted in more than 55 specialties. The implementation of advanced training programs is aimed at improving and (or) obtaining a new competence necessary for professional activity, and (or) improving the professional level within the framework of the existing qualification. Training under professional retraining programs is aimed at obtaining the competence necessary to perform a new type of professional activity, acquiring a new qualification. Additional professional development and professional retraining programs are implemented at Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy partially in the form of internships and provide for the acquisition of professional and organizational skills, the study of the organization and technology of production, work with documentation, and direct participation in the planning of the work of a medical organization.
